A badge is never self-reported. It comes from one of two checks, and the profile always says which one and when.
Read from the exchange
The KOL connects a read-only affiliate API key. We pull referral volume directly from the exchange and stamp the profile with the date of the check. The key itself is never stored.
Checked by a human
Where no API exists, the KOL uploads dashboard evidence and an admin reviews it before any badge is granted. Unverified profiles are labelled as such rather than quietly padded.
Checks are point-in-time, not continuous monitoring — and we say so on every badge.
